Expedition Description

Home to glaciers, alpine valleys, polar bear and ringed seals, Spitzbergen is an adventurers paradise. It's why we chose it for our only non-polar international dogsled adventure in 2006, and it is why you will fall in love with it. Join us for 10 nights and 11 days as we explore this incredible island by dogsled & ski. Bring your camera and your sense of adventure, because this is going to be a trip of a lifetime!

Expedition Itinerary
Day 1 Arrive in Longyearbyen where we'll pick you up and transfer you to our hotel. A welcome reception and dinner offer time to review the schedule and get to know the other participants.
Day 2-9 Prepare for adventure! After meeting the dogs and packing the sleds, we'll head out away from town and into the spectacular alpine wilderness of Spitsbergen. We'll spend the each day dogsledding and skiing across glaciers, frozen fjords, meadows and over majestic mountain passes. Our route depends to a certain extent on weather and snow conditions, but will likely include the east coast of Spitzbergen where a high population of polar bear await. We'll camp each night in tents with warm sleeping bags designed for the cold environment. The 24 hour sunlight will ensure that there is no lack of photographic moments, or opportunities to soak it all up.
Day 10 We'll make our way back to Longyeabyen where we'll say goodbye to our canine friends and hello to hot showers, a delicious celabratory dinner and final night, in beds!
Day 11 After an optional breakfast, we'll transport you back to the airport for your flight to Oslo and points homeward.
