We heard from the team today that they are doing well and excitement is building as they get closer to the South Pole. Tonight they are sleeping at 89.23, which is only 37 nautical miles from their destination.

That's like the last few heavy pedals of a bike ride up a big hill. It's not easier than the middle of the hill, in fact it might be harder, but the top is so close you get a feeling like you're going to make it.

They skied 12 nm in 9 hours under a clear sky and calm winds. Everyone is doing well and in great spirits. Everyone is thankful to their family and friends for supporting them on this incredible adventure.

Ian leaves us an audio update today. When you're done listening to it you can check out this interview he did with ExplorersWeb just prior to the start of the expedition. Check back again tomorrow for another update from the team!
