Today the team reported a beautiful day... sunny, light wind of 5 kt coming from the SE (coming across their left eye). Even though conditions were good the day seemed hard.
They dropped down a hill of around 60 feet then climbed 100 feet and the rest of the day was relatively flat. Everyone is doing well and they are very excited to be within one degree of the Pole. They are currently at 89.11 S
Everyone is doing well and though tired, feeling strong. We attribute this to the many, many hours of training each of the team members logged prior to the expedition. Each of the team members trained hard. This was relatively easy to do for Andy, Ian and Keith and a little harder for Bradley who was living and working on an oil rig. Most training consists of pulling tires for several hours a day. It is the best way to simulate pulling a sled. Here's a shot of Andy training this summer. Check in again tomorrow for another update from the team!
