The Last Degree team made excellent progress again today as they navigated over and around an increasing number of pressure ridges and rubble zones, followed by a long flat pan of ice. Their tenacious pace, coupled with positive drift, (1.5 nautical miles overnight) has put them well ahead of schedule as they approach the 2/3 mark of the expedition.

The weather slowly deteriorated from a calm, clear sky to poor contrast, no horizon, and building winds. Temperatures were noticeably colder throughout the day, causing the team to pay more attention to hand management during and after breaks. Can't let those hands get too frosty!

This evening, Keith and Mike hosted Andrew and James for a fondue dinner (see picture) and the team discussed their plan for the coming days. Everyone is energetic and in high spirits. Stay tuned for the next update.
