Completing the Shackleton Walk

Even though the biggest part of the expedition was complete, the team had a wonderful and packed day yesterday as they landed at a King Penguin colony to enjoy South Georgia's world renowned biodiversity.

There were perhaps thousands of King penguins including many chicks, as well as many Elephant Seals.

I the afternoon the team finished the last leg of the Shackleton Walk, officially completing the crossing of South Georgia in Shackleton's footsteps. Keeping with the theme of their previous four day crossing, they encountered heavy winds, rain and sleet. Thankfully everyone had access to hot showers at the end of the day to banish the chill.

A special shout out to John Reamer's son and The Cadets playing the the Minnesota State Finals football game. Go Cadets!

The team planned to visit the largest King penguin colony on South Georgia Island early this morning. Check back soon to see how they fared!
