Shackleton Poetry Slam to celebrate final night together

The team celebrated one of the final evenings of the expedition with a Poetry Slam in honor of the Boss himself, Ernest Shackleton.

Ernest (ahem, Dave Nelsen) actually made an appearance to MC the event which he did with much enthusiasm. Thanks Dave!

The poetry slam was attended by everyone on board the ship and it included readings in several languages as well as some music. It was a great way to complete this outstanding adventure. Listen to John Reamer and John Gluckman's review of the evening in their audio report.

Soon the team will arrive in Ushuaia where everyone will begin their homeward journeys.

We'd like to thank everyone on our team (John R., Dave, Tony, Barry, Dexter, Stuart, John G., Bud, Cathy, Veronica and Fiona) for making each and every day rewarding and fun. It was a wonderful adventure and we cannot say enough good things about the team. We look forward to sharing many more adventures with them in the future!

Finally, many thanks to all the people who have followed this blog. We invite you save the page in your favorites for our next adventure, the South Pole, starting on December 31.

Warm wishes from the PolarExplorers team!
