Since then he has guided well over a dozen expeditions to the North and South Poles. Rick has been guiding winter mountaineering and ski expeditions for the last 25 years. |Travel and exploration of remote areas of the world has always been my passion. As a native of Hawaii, I am an outdoor person, and love the beauty of the natural world and its native peoples. A retired high school PE teacher, turned winegrape grower, my amazing husband and I currently farm our vineyard in Napa Valley. We have raised 2 wonderful children and spoil our 5 delightful grandchildren.|
|I have had a lifelong love of adventure. Growing up in the 50s and sixties in pre-silicon valley was an agricultural delight. I had the freedom and the wilderness to enact my fantasies. I’m still just a grown up kid. Hiking has long been my muse, doing the John Muir trail, the Tahoe Yosemite, or more recently the Camino de Santiago de Compostela. Betsy and I even hiked across the Lake district of England. Most recently I have enjoyed climbing Kilimanjaro, biking across country now 3 times and skiing the last degree to the South Pole. The North Pole remains a fascination. Longyearbyen will be an added bonus! Polar Explorers has opened a totally new world of adventure to me, but well curated! Thanks for that!|

I very much enjoy traveling to “Mother
Nature” destinations. I’m looking forward to a fantastic trip. I feel very blessed to be able to enjoy such a remote part of our world.
