End of expedition and final blog (SP Full)

It is hard to believe that this is the final blog entry from the 2014-2015 PolarExplorers Full South Pole Ski Expedition. For the longest time the expedition felt like it would never arrive, then (especially for the skiers) it probably felt like it would never end!

Leaving Antarctica (SP Full)

The team is minutes away from leaving the continent they have called home for the last 50 days! However, there was no room for sorrow while packing for the plane ride back to Punta Arenas. Instead, giddy energy is flying around as well as a few snowballs. All four will be settled into their hotel by 8:30pm tonight (Punta Arenas time).

Congratulations again guys! What an incredible achievement.  Keep following for commentary, interviews, and hi-res photos of the expedition.

Back at Union Glacier and first showers! (SP Full)

The team reported today that their celebrations last night went well into the wee hours of this morning, which made their long awaited sleep-in all the more pleasant. Last night the South Pole NGO camp manager, Devon, made them a delicious meal with tons of food and even a few beers & cigars.

Some photos and an audio post from the South Pole (SP Full)

We spoke with the team again and they were having a great time. They ate a sumptuous meal, had a photo session, got a tour, and had a delightful time socializing with people outside their small circle. How wonderful and strange it must be to see so many new faces!

A beautiful day on the polar plateau (SP Full)

We heard from the team today that they are doing well and excitement is building as they get closer to the South Pole. Tonight they are sleeping at 89.23, which is only 37 nautical miles from their destination.

Now within 1 degree of the Pole! (SP Full expedition)

Today the team reported a beautiful day... sunny, light wind of 5 kt coming from the SE (coming across their left eye). Even though conditions were good the day seemed hard.
