20 Miles And Some Downhill Sledding!

Ski crossing of Vatnajökull

On Monday, having waited out the howling winds, the team left their cozy hut at the Grimsvotn Caldera to continue the trek toward Hvannadalshnjúkur.

Hvannadalshnjukur is the highest point in Iceland, located on the summit crater of the Öræfajökull volcano.

The team began the day with a decent from the hut that provided the perfect opportunity to sit down and ride their sleds down to glacier below. But before they left the Grimsfjall Hut they were able to finally get a good view of the Grimsvötn caldera. It was quite impressive! After a long day of covering 20 miles (32 kilometers) all are in good spirits and enjoying a beautiful evening on the glacier.
