Goodbye SP, hello UG!

Everyone is now back at Union Glacier after returning from the South Pole. The Union Glacier basecamp is home away from home for many people including adventurers and staff alike. Right now the camp is very full with many expeditions that have been delayed by weather. Weather delays are not uncommon in Antarctica but that doesn't make them any easier to endure, especially when you are filled with anticipation for good things to come, whether that's beginning a new adventure or heading home after one is completed.

Having successfully skied the Last Degree to the South Pole several members of our team will be heading back to Punta Areans, Chile. The rest of the team will prepare for the next leg of their journey, climbing Mt. Vinson. Regardless of the next destination one thing is required, and that's good weather. This means that there will regular weather updates at the Union Glacier basecamp regarding the status of the flights, and if they aren't happening, an update about when the next update will be.

In the meantime they will be enjoying good company, good food and a fabulous view of the mountains - presuming there is good visibility!

Check back again tomorrow for another update from the ice.
