Packing sleds and testing things out

Tariq testing out another mode of transportation.

Today was a beautiful day the at Union Glacier basecamp. Blue skies, warm temps, little wind and lots to do. After an "amazing" breakfast this morning everyone got together to split the group gear. The group gear includes tents, stoves, kettles, repair kit and other things used by the group. They also split up the expedition food. Now the sleds are beginning to feel heavier!

While all this was going on Tay took care of various logistics for tomorrow's departure. In the afternoon they suited up, broke down the tents and with fully laden sleds went for a short test ski out to the Christmas tree.

Getting ready to warm up those sled hauling muscles!

After a great dinner in the evening most of the team went to a lecture on Scottish Antarctic expeditions. Everyone is doing great and acclimatizing well. They are looking forward to a good night's sleep in their cozy tents.

Check back tomorrow for another update from the team.
