The team had a relatively casual day today with final preparations in Punta Arenas. Their bags were picked up and weighed and they all received their boarding passes for the flight tomorrow. Everyone is excited and ready to get the show on the road! They have a mid morning scheduled transfer to the airport where they expect to spend a few hours before their flight to Antarctica and the Union Glacier Basecamp.
It can be a relief to have your sled bags collected and taken to the airport. There's no more organizing everything on the hotel bed or debating about bringing this or that. What's packed is packed! It's a good feeling and it's one step closer towards the adventure ahead.
We are so excited for everyone and we're looking forward to sharing their dispatches from the ice. If you have any questions for the team feel free to send them to annie@polarexplorers.com Check back again tomorrow!
