We are all bitterly disappointed that the North Pole season ended before it got started due to a decision by Barneo AG following a denial of permission to use Longyearbyen as a base of ops. We are working to understand if and how this decision will impact future expeditions to the North Pole. Travel to the North Pole has had previous logistical difficulties that were related to permissions, politics or other circumstances. In the past the expedition community has found a way to make it all work out. We are hoping and working towards a similar result in 2024.
